A thousand attics explores memory and connection through collected objects and textiles. Amelia Skelton presents new works including aluminium castings of found everyday objects—a religious figure, a dolphin keyring, a needle and thread—suspended from fabric ropes like charm bracelets. The exhibition also features digital patchwork quilts created from a database of archived images: photographs of textiles from Skelton's collection, digitised family photographs, scans of archaeological sites, and images of personal collections. These images are printed onto sheer fabric and sewn into quilts, transporting them from real to digital to real again. Cropped and removed from context, the multiple stories within each quilt are only partially revealed, inviting viewers to discover connections and create their own narratives. The works reveal Skelton's deep interest in how objects and materials carry histories and memories—what they say about how we live, what we hold dear, and our connections to one another.
