Full Circle

Full Circle is Judy Trick's third solo exhibition with Artsite Contemporary. Drawing on the Japanese concept of Sunyata and the meditative Enso circle, the exhibition reflects on a major life event and the healing that followed. Trick's practice spans fifty years, shaped by travels across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Her recent work explores the push and pull of sadness and joy, advance and retreat, grounded in the South Coast landscape near her Gerringong studio. The exhibition references her late father Harold Woodward's scientific curiosity and her mother Hilda's fifty-year pottery practice. Works feature gestural mark-making, calligraphic sweeps, and lyrical abstraction informed by the local escarpment, shorebirds, and the symbolic power of bushfire and regeneration.
