‘What is measured cannot come undone’ -- What is measured cannot come undone is Difinubun’s first show with SYRUP Contemporary. It forms part of an ongoing investigation into precarity, tension and body. Through large scale sculpture and video installation, this exhibition proposes structural gestures as a force that binds, suspends and restrains. The works in ‘What is measured cannot come undone’ explore a sustained tension that renders materials as active performers. Pig Earth -- Pig Earth is Jake Starr’s second solo show at SYRUP Contemporary and their first as a represented artist. Curated by Sarah Hibbs the exhibition traces a series of conditions in which consciousness has emerged, organised, and then finally, turned against itself. The works move between animal and human states, between domestication and re-feralisation. We sit with them in the chaos of collapse, in the aftermath of control.
